Exterior Detailing: More Than Just Washing
Exterior detailing goes far beyond a regular wash. It is a multi-stage process that decontaminates, corrects, and protects every exterior surface of your vehicle. The goal is to restore the paintwork to its best possible condition and apply long-lasting protection. A full exterior detail transforms the appearance of any vehicle.
Panel-by-Panel Exterior Process
Wheels and arches first — Always detail wheels before paintwork to prevent brake dust and wheel cleaner splashing onto clean panels.
Pre-wash and snow foam — Removes loose contamination safely before any contact washing takes place.
Safe hand wash — Two-bucket method with pH-neutral shampoo and microfibre mitt, working top to bottom.
Chemical decontamination — Iron fallout remover and tar remover applied to all panels. Reacts with and dissolves bonded contaminants.
Clay bar treatment — Physical removal of remaining bonded contamination. The surface should feel glass-smooth afterwards.
Machine polishing — Systematic correction of paint defects panel by panel. Paint thickness measured before and after.
Protection application — Ceramic coating, sealant, or wax applied to all panels, trim, wheels, and glass.

Door shuts and seal areas — Accumulate dirt, grime, and salt that transfers to clothing
Fuel filler cap area — Often neglected, traps dirt that can scratch during refuelling
Boot seal and hinge areas — Collect water, leaves, and debris that cause corrosion
Exhaust tips — Carbon build-up and discolouration detract from an otherwise detailed finish
Windscreen wipers — Dirty wiper blades smear rather than clean and should be replaced or cleaned
